"Matthew MOORE, who is openly gay, said his "jaw was on the floor" when he saw the test results of his physical examination at the Torrance Memorial Physician Network on Manhattan Beach.
"Homosexual Behaviour" was listed as a chronic condition on the 45-year-old's patient plan and under diagnosis with a code.
The 45-year-old told WRC-TV: "When I saw that on my diagnosis I felt like ... not just me, but we all took a few steps back."
Mr Moore went on: "When I looked up the code '302.0' ... it's SEXUAL DEVIANCY or mental illness even ... that code has been removed or suggested heavily not to be used since 1973."
When he confronted the doctor about her diagnosis and asked her how homosexuality could be treated, Mr Moore said her response was that it "is still up for debate".
He said he did not have a problem with his sexuality being noted by the medic, but he did take issue with it being listed as a chronic condition.
"Government tells us, often times, that we're not equal, many churches tell us that we're sinners, and now here's a medical professional telling us that we're sick," he said.
"I don't want one other person that's not straight to be told they're sick or that there's something wrong with them."...end quote.

The ring was bought at auction last year by the American singer KELLY CLARKSON,however the U.K stopped it leaving the country,considering the item national treasure,giving the museum time to raise the cash to purchase it from the singer.

"A man and a woman accused of attempting to rape a 10-week-old baby girl have appeared in court.
The 31-year-old man and 23-year-old woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were arrested after the baby was admitted to Colchester General Hospital in Essex on Saturday.
They appeared before Colchester magistrates on Thursday morning jointly charged with two counts of attempted rape and three counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, relating to serious head injuries and injuries of a sexual nature.
They have also been charged with neglect causing unnecessary suffering.
The case was adjourned to Chelmsford Crown Court on October 21." end quote.
